I would love to shoot something like that some day!
How did you???
:iconrististien:
I want to know too, how do you pull these shots off? Is it in the shot initially or a form of post processing? Either way, I always love your work.

How did I do what, exactly? :)
:iconeurai:
Post-processing, mostly. I typically shoot a scene up to three times (one shot underexposed, another exposed correctly, and one overexposed) and combine the results in Photoshop such that underexposed-but-bright areas (clouds, for example, or other highlights) are mixed with overexposed-but-dim areas (the trees located in the left side of this photograph, for example). I don't use HDR, as it's too automated and doesn't afford great selectivity in adjusting small portions of a an image; instead, I've each of the three aforementioned shots on individual layers and I blend each by erasing sections of those layers that contain any pure whites or blacks. I then increase contrast of the resultant shot but mask those areas that become white or black -- leaving the remainder of the work subject to a wider range of grays. Shooting only in .RAW permits all of the above, though, as .JPG files don't contain nearly enough exposure data to allow extensive editing of brightness and contrast.

Hehe, sorry. I meant, apart from the exif, did you added something to the image? :)
:iconrististien:
alright wow, see I've tried doing that, at least the simple way to do it and I just can't get it right. So what happens if one of the shots looks different than the others by even a little, does it effect the overall shot?
